The weekend is here!
Of course, for your local real estate professional that is earning a living helping folks buy and sell real estate looks at the weekend as another two days to meet and exceed client expectations…
Selling Your Home
A great article on the national 2013 housing market can be perused over on Freshome. Take with a grain of salt, when applying national trends to your local housing market. Here in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Northville, Plymouth, Novi and Livonia, homes are not lasting long on the shelves at all.
Did I mention the ridiculous number of folks through an open house recently?
From the article:
What can we do as sellers to put ourselves ahead of the competition?
The most important thing Foo tells me, as any good realtor will tell you, is to price your home well. “The bulk of it is pricing and the condition of your home.” He urges all potential sellers to declutter their homes. “When you put your house on the market you have to have the mindset that it is no longer your home. It should be generic. Photographs and anything of a personal nature should be packed up and put away. A house becomes a saleable product. You are not selling your home, you are selling a product and you must approach it as such.”
Selling Your Home, Part Two
On two different listing presentations this week, I have expressed to my soon-to-be-sellers that their home will be one of 1-4 homes on the active market, in a market that sells 2-3 homes a month. Two different cities, two different price points, similar market conditions.
What was that about supply and demand?
My blunt question for you, dear reader: if you or someone you know is even thinking about selling their home, would you do me a solid and let me know? The wonderful convergence of historically low interest rates, rising property values and low inventory mean that selling your home right now could be a quick process indeed.
Silliness
Finally, a little levity for my Star Wars friends. Heck, even my political peeps may get a kick out of this “truther” mockumentary of the destruction of the Death Star. The producer of this video presents great evidence that it was an inside job and that Vader/Anakin did it for the lucrative construction contracts.
The truth is out there!
