How Many Listings a Month?
So, just when you thought we couldn’t find another way to graphically show what is happening in the local housing market, my friends at Big House Data have put together a new chart. This chart combines both the monthly number of sales and the monthly number of new listings. Oh, and they throw in 12 month average trendlines for both.
As you can see, the number of new listings has taken off since about March of 2005. With this last month behind us, it appears as though the listing craze may have tapered off. Sales have been steady until about September of 2005. Through August of 2006 sales have dropped nearly 11% since August of 2005.
