DIA: Inside|Out Display in Plymouth, Michigan
Well, look what I found just outside the Plymouth Coffee Bean recently:

Not going to lie, I had no clue what was going on here.
I was on my way to the Bean for a coffee meeting with a local lender and saw this picture just “hanging out” in front.
Once I had my cuppa Papua New Guinea in hand, I flipped the lid on my laptop open to see what this was all about. Turns out, the Detroit Institute of Arts placed 40 of these DIA: Inside|Out exhibits across Metro Detroit:
DIA: Inside|Out is one of several initiatives the museum is undertaking to celebrate its 125th anniversary. “125 years is an important milestone for the DIA and its extended family, and to properly celebrate the occasion required something exceptionally fun and surprising,” said Larry Baranski, DIA director of public programs. “The sites we approached immediately understood why temporarily installing large-scale replicas of old master paintings on landmark main streets and park settings was a perfectly natural way to reconnect with the legacy of the DIA’s collections.”
Have you seen any more of these DIA: Inside|Out displays around the metro Detroit area? Drop a comment on where you’ve seen other displays. If you see one, snap a picture and send it to twaller[at]plymouth-real-estate[dot]us
