Day Twenty Four | 31 Days of Thanksgiving

Today is a very special day in my life. This is the day that my bride, Bianca, and I were married.

It’s been a few years and a couple of kids, but it is a grand life! And it continues to get better…

You see, Bianca said, “I do,” to a guy that was a political hack at the time. In my former life, I was a campaign manager for political races here in the state of Michigan. This meant that my work schedule and work life were crazy, for seeming months on end. Once the elections were over, there was time to kill before regrouping and resetting for the next round of campaigns.

To say that Bianca is understanding, supportive and encouraging is to claim that the sky is blue and that the sun usually rises in the East; that is, it’s an understatement!

You want to know what I am thankful for on a daily basis? The love and support of my wife! She simply rocks my world… everyday.

A Love Letter

Bianca,

While it may not seem necessary and possibly overkill, I wanted the world to know how much I love you. You said, “I do” to me these many years ago and I am more deeply and madly in love with you now, than ever before!

We’ve been blessed with two chuckle-heads that never cease to bring joy and laughter into our lives. I can’t help but see you in our boys’ eyes and smiles. They are the perfect mix of the two of us and are simply a joy.

Did I know, fully, whom I was marrying years ago? No, I really did not. As time has progressed, I find myself marveling at your grace, mercy and patience. How can I teach our boys to look for these qualities in their wives, when I am just now recognizing how important these characteristics are? I certainly didn’t know to look for them and yet I am the luckiest man alive, being your husband.

I am madly, deeply and truly yours! I still shake my head that you said, “Yes!” on that cold December night in downtown Northville when I asked you to marry me. Am I in a dream?

If this is all just a dream, please don’t wake me! I want to see this one through…
