Ann Arbor Area: Enter Google-Exit Pfizer
Myself and Team366 co-founder, Eric Pointer, were interviewed recently regarding the aggregate impact of the arrival of Google and departure of Pfizer. As the summer of 2007 appears to be over, with the exception of the temperatures (mid 70’s in the middle of October? C’mon!), Pfizer is down to a skeleton crew at their Plymouth Road facility. Google, just today, announced that their corporate earnings were up 46%. When much of their revenue is gotten through paid, online advertising, that makes the Google Adwords division decision to come to Ann Arbor seem particularly fortuitous for the region.
Part one of a three part series on the effects of the Google/Pfizer moves can be found here. While this article doesn’t cover real estate solely, it goes a long way to touch on many of the areas of the Ann Arbor area effected by these corporate moves.
Stay tuned for more….the good part (where Andy interviews Eric and I) is coming up!
