My husband and I were honored to attend the FWSF dinner invited by Mr. Phillips. We listened to Marcus Luttrell share the experiences he had with his Seal brothers. Heartbreaking and humbling. We attended last years dinner and hosted a table that included 3 OIF/OEF 173rd Airborne (detached), in Vicenza, Italy. They served with our son, one is now a paralyzed from the waist down from from a memorable battle in Helmand Provence, A-Stan, May 3, 2005. Tyler Wilson, Andy Elliott, Joseph Mathews, are amazing indiviual who love our country. Tyler flew from Colorado to be attend the event. This year... We have one of those soldiers attending with us, Andy and his wife Jen. Also our table will include 2 Gold Star families, besides ourselves, and 1 Blue Star/Purple Heart family. Our table is a good representation of a normal families who have paid much for the sake of freedom. We all look forward to seeing Sebastian, his book and movie were about our 173rd Sons... God Bless Him for all he does for our military and telling an honest unbiased story of their lives in war. We look forward to this years event.

@patrickreyes Thanks, Patrick! I would suggest touching base with tom vanderwell and God's Littlest Angels - Haiti: http://godslittlestangelsinhaiti.org I think he is trying to organize a few folks to go to Haiti and do some construction on the orphaniage. Then there is davesacre favorite, http://www.raincatchers.org. They go about 2/3 times a year and build water collection facilities.Of course, something around SE MI wouldn't be bad either!

Great post Todd. I am so happy that you were able to experience this with your community and make a difference in that town in Kentucky. I'm praying that God will open the right doors for me to be able to go on a mission trip to experience what you did. Welcome back!
